The following are the Top Treatments we have found to be successful.
- Do not scratch the bite.
- To ease itching, use an anesthetic cream
- Calamine lotion can be used to ease itching.
- Creams and lotions created for mosquito bites will effectively reduce itching.
- When applied directly to the bite, Peppermint oils and extracts will remove the itch.
- The use of over-the-counter Benadryl can help to reduce the allergic reaction.
- Apply ice on and around the bite to reduce swelling
- Wear loose fitting clothing in the areas where bites are apparent. This will reduce the irritation
- Should the bite become infected, or symptoms to not begin to diminish, contact your physician immediately.
- Have your home/office inspected and treated for bed bugs - while this may seem cliche, the best treatment for bed bug bites is the extermination of the bugs themselves.
